A cubby for your birthday
Over my Christmas break I have been building a cubby house for my daughters 2nd birthday (next week). I have all but completed it apart from a bit of paving and some small garden beds etc.... below are some construction pics and the finished product.
It cost me just over $1k. Timber/Hardware/Cladding aint cheap is it.
I did manage to save a few bucks by doing the following:
- getting all the framing pine second hand out of the paper for $100
- using left over colorbond wall sheeting/trim etc from my shed for the roof. Roof cost me a total of $6 for the roofing screws so that was a win at least. :2tsup:
- Floating floor I also picked up free out of the local rag.
- the timber shutters were cut down from second hand shutters I found at the local recycle yard (revolve) - $8 :D
Turned out alright I think esp since its my first cubby :cool:
