Cooling insulation?

Hi all!
Again I have been very busy dealing with family health issues but in the process I have bought an ac 5kw/h Daikin> I am happy with it although I would like to insulate part of the unit I live in which is sandwiched on the first floor. The walls are solid double brick and during the last week heat wave the walls got pretty warm and this lasted for a few days.
To cut things short I wonder what can I do to insulate walls and ceilings?
Like to read your suggestions and opinions on the subject?
