Plane or fancy scratch gauge?

:Uknocked this little beasty up today, I had to put some very light rebates on the leaf table I making at the moment and didn't want to use the router just seemed way over kill for a .55 - 1mm x 5-6mm rebate so I made this little scraper rebate plane. It had to be small or at least short to get round some of the tight inner curves of the segments. Grain runs in lots of directions so thought scraper rather than cutting action. As a proto type it worked well but I'm sure it will under go further R&D as it gets used on other projects. I can have multipul blades and use it like a scratch gauge. Its made out of brass 25mm angle, bit ot blue tip silver solder and a 1/4 brass counter sunk metal thread. The blade is the left over end of a TS plane blade cutout, the other end is a marking knife and a carving knife. (Three tools from one plane blade cutout).
It was only made quickly so I could get on with the job so there are still a lot of vice marks etc in the brass, would look better with a little TLC.
So a plane or a fancy scraper?:? I think its a scraper rebate plane that can be used as a scratch gauge.

Hi Mic, Christos, yes it was realy just a diversion from work for a while but after using it agian today it realy is a good little user. You can buy the larger scatch gauges/tools like LN and a few others which are like a spoke shave design but I realy just wanted something small to get a grip on the blade/scratch plate. Anyway did the job and amused me for an hour or so.:U
