I'm looking for a smaller , traditional Tassie cray boat .
Where do I start looking ?.
And please , don't say " Tassie" , I'm seriously trying to find an under 30 foot traditional cray boat.

Not even one little snippet of information .
I guess I'll just have to deal through the brokers.

Hi Rob,
Not exactly what you are looking for and BTW I've not seen a trad cray boat in SA for years but this gem appeals to me and has the qualities I think you are looking for in a boat.

Interesting reading anyway.
Cheers

Mike , for some reason I got no photo , or anything like that come through.
There are small cray boats around , I just need to know where I'm more likely to find them , or who to talk to , that knows about them , who built them etc.
There is one for sale in SA , but its just a little big , and if I recall , needs a lot of work.
There was one just sold in Tassie that I was interested in , and another that is just too rough .
My ideal would be a canoe stern 30 footer , or under.
Thanks for posting anyway Mike.
Regards Rob J.
Oops forgot the link added now.
Yes , she does look nice , I agree.
The next thing , how do I get her home from Kent ?.
I don't think I'm up to sailing her home.
Regards Rob J.
Mike , have you been to the Axel Stenross museum ?.
Regards Rob J.
No I haven't, just looked it up and added it to my to do list. Funny I have visited Lincoln many times over the years yacht races business etc and it has never been mentioned even by the locals...weird how you never look in your own backyard.
Thanks
I've e-mailed them.
If I get a reply , and its of interest I'll let you know , and I'll do the trip.
Regards Rob J.
I've spoken to the people at the Axel Stenross museum people , and Leyla tells me we have been there , years ago.
It sounds an interesting place , but its sorta a comfortable 3 day trip , so I'll wait till we are going past , possibly later in the year , when we cross the Nullabor.
Also the little cray boat type boat I've been interested in , Verona May , has resurfaced , at another brokers Boat Sales Tas.
Hopefully , if I sold Huon Seal , I could get Verona May , and have her set up as a motor sailer , that I could single hand.

Does anyone have an opinion on this boat ?

What about this boat ?.
I took it from "Cruising Southern Tasmania".
Does anyone happen to know the boat ?.
She looks really good to me , potentially a nice little motor sailer , for some fishing .
