Adelaide Forumites Lend Me Your Secrets
So the Stinkette and I have been residents of Adelaide for a few months now. After spending the first three months stuck with a single garage that was so packed of woodwork stuff that I couldn’t move we bought a lovely place with a new double garage. After I unpack I will be ready to get back into the swing of things.
I am in need of fellow Adelaide Forumites to lend me there little secrets on where to go for everything woodwork / home renovation related. So far there hasn’t been too much that has jumped out. I know of the regular woodwork machinery places like Carbatec but I am more so looking for good timber supplies, plywood supplies, steel supplies, demolition yards etc.
In Geelong there was a demolition yard which didn’t really specialise in anything but it was possible to get cheap ply, mdf, steel and treated pine. It was the sort of place that was a bit of a lucky dip of what they may have in the yard at the time. Sometimes you could get everything you needed and other times nothing at all.
I saw an ad the other day for Paramount Browns which looks like an interesting place. Other than that there is a strange little place on South Road which I haven’t had a chance to look through yet. I haven’t really seen any specialised timber outlets.
I have also done a goolge search which bought up a few things but it would be good to get first hand advise of places to go where they don’t treat you like and idiot and charge well over what things are worth.
Cheers in advance.
