Shipping container workshop
My shed concept housed in a 20' shipping container. From the outside, it looks just like a regular container, but on the inside it is a completely transportable workshop.
- framed internally with pine, stuffed with fiberglass insulation, and lined with ply
- halogen down lights in the ceiling
- bench, 4m long, 900mm wide
- 300mm sliding miter saw
- router table (router can be replaced with a table saw, using the same guides, fence etc)
- router/table saw near the doors to allow long lengths to be fed in
- router/table saw positioned to avoid interference with miter saw when feeding long lengths
- wood vise at end of bench
- drill press
- grinder
- lathe
- pegboard on the side wall for small hand tools
- clamp rack on one wall, turning tools on opposite wall
- shelving above the bench for small items, hardware etc
- shelving on the rear wall for large items, drills, planes, sanders, circular saws etc
- space in the corners for standing tall items, brooms, etc
- space under the bench for timber storage, dust extraction etc
