Nissan Patrol Custom Cargo Barrier Installation
Long story short, this all started after reading a few threads about using non Patrol cargo barriers. Makes perfect sense because Patrol barriers are expensive new and still expensive second hand. Non Patrol barriers are worth about scrap metal value at best.
Also happened to have an R50 Pathfinder cargo barrier lying around.
Problem is mounting them securely.
Personally I do not like how the top straps of the cargo barriers mount, I'm sure it's all good I just don't like it and it doesn't lend itself to custom installs.
So my criteria was:
Mount R50 bar securely without using traditional top mounting.
Avoid modifying the R50 barrier in case I ever need it in the Pathfinder.
Design a system that can be easily adapted to a variety of different cargo barriers.
The result:
Base mounting system:

Cross brace that holds uo the cargo barrier:

Start of the vertical mounting system to hold the cargo barrier vertical:

Bottom cargo barrier secured to cross brace. Welded on some 30x10x50mm flat with a tight M8 thread then use existing mounts on the cargo barrier.

Top vertical mount to cargo barrier:

It is also adjustable with a "touring" position with middle row seats removed giving an extra 200mm in the rear section.
Will post more pictures when I pick up all the pieces from the powder coaters.
Cheers
