A couple of months back I had reason to cut down several trees on our block before they became too big to handle, one was a Brazilian Cedar and another a Spotted Gum. I kept the larger sections of the cedar for use later but I had some of the branches that were worthwhile keeping to experiment with. I have had this idea to turn small items following lines inspired by the ceramic artist Les Blakebrough and use these pieces to explore different texture technigues.
Here is the results of my first three efforts. I plugged the central core for stability.
