Toyota Fuel Cap

I have a 1996 HZJ79 Tojo Trayback. Bought new. All the years I have owned it have been careful to place the fuel cap back on correctly, that is with the arrow pointing up.

Today, after fueling up the old girl, was momentarily distracted by my partner and managed to place it on the wrong way. Now I cant get it back off.

When done up, the arrow is facing down. Unlock and undo, the cap only releases one locking lug.

Anyone out there can help me get this cap off, dont want to use brute force if I have too.
