Black Sassafras - Easy or hard to work with?

hi guys, i'm newbie in the world of wood working and just found out that some timbers are harder to work with than others when I went to flatten a rough sawn spotted gum piece with a hand plane.

I'd like to work with Black Sassafras at some stage also because I reckon it looks great.

So my question, is Black Sassafras as difficult to work with as Spotted Gum?

You shouldn't have any problem with Blackheart, lovely timber to work with (one of my favourites to turn). And it's very much softer than spotted.

Sassy is very easy to work with but always keep in mind that it loves to move. Even kiln dried sassy will move. When milling it to size i always try to mill it oversize then leave it for a couple of days & sure enough it will have moved some. But its really kind on tools & a joy to work with. Enjoy!
