I am planning on building a centre wheel plough plane similar to the one in the attached picture; does any one know where I can buy brass male and female thumbscrews?

Check out Lee Valley - they have female threaded brass knobs (1/4-20) and cast iron thumbscrews. There are also some bits that may be useable hiding as brass knobs for other projects - there are some that can have wood inlays added. Or you can make your own male thumbscrews by silver soldering or brazing brass rod into a female threaded knob.
This is the one I was thinking of. If it's any use to you, PM me.
Why don'cha choose a more ambitious project?:D
Hi TassiKiwiMade all my own hand tools in my apprenticeship this plane should not be that hard if I can find the brass ware maby I will make my own keep an eye out for a picture when its finished!
What's a B & D?
Thanks AlexS for the generous offer think I will make the brass ware. Watch this space for some pictures of the plane I still have to draw up plans for the plane the project has a time frame of 12 months. The current project is a Chess board from Huon Pine and Tas Myrtle.
A little pain and pleasure Bondage and Discipline, theres some strange people on this forum and I'm not one of them :rolleyes:Quote:
