Help needed for Triton TRA001 router
Hi All,
I am thinking about buying a Triton TRA001 as I am planning to use it on the router table. However, from the reviews I have read off the internet, it seems this router has some durability problem and has some cheap parts. As I am a hobby woodworker from Malaysia, I really appreciate if anyone would be able to help me with the questions below before I buy it. Repair will be very costly if not impossible and I am hoping that if I buy this unit it would serve me for many years to come. I am planning to buy this router from “Justtools” from Australia as they offer a better price than Carbatec.
1. I have read that plastic worm gear was used and it fails very quickly, is plastic worm gear still being used in this machine?
2. Although this particular router was designed to have better dust collection but the connection port at the base is of an uncommon size and most vacuum hoses would not fit. This is from the many reviews I have read, but is it true?
3. Is the machine ruggedly built/durable? A recent video review by “Toolselect” in the America suggested that this machine has lots of plastic and rubber and doesn’t look like it’s going to last a long time. Many of you may have used/owned this router for many years so your advice would be much appreciated.
4. If the machine ever breaks down, is fixing/repairing it by myself possible? As sending it down under and back to Malaysia would cost a small fortune.
If anyone has any comments regarding this router, please feel free to post as the more info I can get about this router, the better decision i may make as the purchase will not be cheap. Thanks very much!

Okay I should keep an eye out when using the MOF. So far so good. The TRA is faultless I have been using it mounted in the table so much more and think it's great.
