Pine sap
I finally (2 months into the sailing season) got my Goat off the sawhorses this weekend. Just had time to give it a wash and a quick review of maintenance needs.
First cosmetic problem is that it had wintered under a pine tree and has pine sap all over the sides. What can I use to remove that without destroying the paint? It's a two-part epoxy, high gloss. Don't feel like taking the gloss off just to remove the sap. Or am I stuck with the sap until I have time to repaint?

I like the citrus-based cleaning products like Goo-gone and such for pine sap. They usually don't damage auto paint, so your hull's finish should be good. But even if some haziness occurs, a good buffing might work.

It dissolves in alcohol. Similar to shellac which is sap that has passed through a beetle.
