ANZAC Day 2015 - 100yr commemoration - LEST WE FORGET
ANZAC Day 2015 - 100yr commemoration............
Both my grandfathers were at Gallipoli...
My dad's dad, 2nd Light Horse, only lasted 10days, but was med-vacated to the hospital ship and then spent 12 months in a London hospital before being sent home to Australia with a hole in his hip as large as a fist.....
My mum's dad, 3rd Field Artillery, also service in Egypt and France were he was awarded the Military Medal for Gallantry Under Fire...
Neither ever spoke of there service...
Today, I spent a short time looking over the Poppy Park at Penrith; a sea of 102000 red poppies in the shape of a poppy; one for each person lost in war....too many, and yes, we own them a debt of gratitude for there sacrifice....doing their duty, servicing their country..

This Saturday marks the 100th Anniversary of the ANZACs – say THANK YOU today!
100 years ago, over 20,000 brave soldiers stormed the shores at Gallipoli, forging themselves a place in history. Thousands of other have now followed the ANZACs and gone on to join the Australian Defence Force to defend our country.
But now, thousands of these veterans are feeling the effects of their service, suffering both physical and psychological wounds.
Say THANK YOU today to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ANZACs and support our wounded soldiers.
Please join our Thank you For Your Service campaign to honour those who have fought for our country and show these brave men and women that we will always have their backs and they will never be forgotten.
