Have been looking on the internet to find where to buy thread chasers in Australia, without success.
They do not specifically have to be Sorby brand as I see that Crown make them also.
Any help would be appreciated.

Try Jim Carroll, one of the forum sponsors.
ask Jim - powderpost - for his opinion on what he suggests
I know he recently made a comment/recommendation on tpi
My memory recalls that they were Sorby.

Hi Kidbee, 20 tpi is the way to go. I bought my chasers from Carba-tec some time back, not sure they still have them. I know David Drescher, S.E.Q. woodturning supplies, have them. I have Hamlet and Sorby chasers, both are high speed steel tools and both good.

Thanks powderpost. Isn't memory recall an elusive skill.

Hi Gary,
You need to find a 2nd Hand Shop that has tools.
Bought P&N & all HSS, of all threads some time ago now, & all we all paid was $2 for ea one. No Handles of course.
The Place we went was a Surplus Store, long since gone.
Some I never thought, I wood use, so I made Scrapers out of them.
Yes, I know, Sacrilege.
If you look around, Markets & the like, I'm sure you will find them.
Here is some more info on the Roberts Sorby Threading kits and a video on their use
