You'll probably need to take a cab to the store, and if you do the staff will, if asked, ring for a cab when you are finished.
Store pick-up.
There's nothing easier or more straight forward.
On Lee Valley's web page is an option for nominating yourself as a US, International, or Canadian customer.
Select Canadian ENGLISH -- unless you want to practice your French -- and set "your local store" to Halifax. (I forget precisely where the local store option is, but it's not hard to find.)
At checkout your shopping cart can be directed to SHIP or STORE PICK-UP.
Your cart will also indicate the likely delivery date for stuff not in stock at the Halifax store.
when you get to the store, if you have plenty of time use the main entrance and spend some more cash.
If you're tight on time use the Express Pick-up entrance.
Have your customer number with you, as in my experience only a few of the staff know how to override the template which is expecting a US or Canadian post code. Using your customer number is thus simpler.
Payment.
If you can use a pre-paid Visa or Mastercard rather than a straight credit card or cash. In my experience a pre-paid Mastercard results in the best exchange rate from AUS to CAD or USD. In particular with a prepaid card you avoid the 3% (because we can) exchange fee.
