Twin drum sander
Hi guys , I'm thinking of purchasing this sander https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...758945148d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...481da1607f.jpg
Current owner doesn't know what brand it is but thinks maybe old carbatec and is asking $1500 for it. Any thoughts on the machine and whether it is worth the asking price would be much appreciated.
Cheers Jim

Hi Jim,
Did you buy it?? What was it like?
-
No , it sold while I was procrastinating. Still keeping an eye out for a second hand unit but not in any rush.

Just be aware that most of the small twin drum sanders (like the one in the photo above) will require a 15A power point. This was a big factor for me, and why I ultimately got a single drum JET 16/32 which runs off any standard outlet. It doesn't take long to change papers when you get the knack - just run all parts through on one grit, change to the next finest and run all parts through that as well.

Thanks for the info, I don’t have permanent power to the shed yet but will definitely put in 15 A points

I did consider a sander like this. depends on what you use it for.
I endup with a proper wide belt sander. there a bit of infrastructure involved if you dont have it setup already, compress line, 3 phase power and dust extraction.
