Hand cranked Grinders what are they worth?

Hi,

I am wanting to get an Idea of what a fair price is for an Vintage hand cranked Grinder as I have seen a few but though they were over priced not by much but still more that I thought they were worth as they were once very common.

So I what is a fair price? I was thinking in used condition covered in grease and dirt with worn wheel missing tool rest $30-$40 would be fair would be fair Obviously I would be looking at the cheaper the better However I plan on using it for slow speed grinding so if its in good working order or will be prepared to pay for it.

Do you mean the small 'clamp on' type, with a 6" wheel? I haven't gone looking for one, but personally, I would think under $20 complete. I might be wrong, but I don't think there is a lot of demand for these things.

Hi Russ,

Yeah the small clamp on type is exactly what i am after as well as hopefully a bigger bolt down 8" style

I would hope to get one for $20 but we will see

I've paid between $25/40
So i would say just keep looking
They were a fairly common item once.
