First boxes
Just had my first attempt at bandsaw boxes and have a couple of questions. I have a Carba-tec 14inch machine and have used one of their carbon blades 3mm14tpi but the blade seems to clog up easily so what number of TPI is the best to use. How do you all centralise the drawers within the housing to ensure an even gap all around, not a good look if the drawer sits on the bottom, I have glued thin shims inside the housing and flocked to disguise as best as possible. Also which type of blade do you advise. Any and all advise appreciated. Cheers Brian.

Hi Brian
I use 6mm 8tpi I don't have any trouble with blockage you can cut nice corners, To get even space around the draws I use pre pasted felt. regards john.

I use a 3mm 14tpi haven't had any clogging issue I would imagine timber selection could have a lot to do with that. I use thin cut slices of timber as runners/spacer's to the bottom and sides of the openings to keep draws centre. I keep them back a few mm so they are not visible when draw is closed.
Regards Rod.

Hi John T. Thanks for the info John will follow your advice. Almost a pity I brought so much Huon with me when we moved up here 6 years ago from Margate. But it will all get used some how, it won't be wasted. Thanks again. Brian.
