Looks like a good line up of exhibitors. Is it just me or does there seem to be more of these events? There's also the wood dust event the following weekend. It's awesome!
Fletty doesn't arrive back until the night of Friday 6th, so says he can't go. Doesn't show much courage if you ask me - just a bit of jet lag to get over.
Wood Dust event Andy? Got a link?
Reckon I'm on for the IFW.
I'm in for Saturday if we are organising a trip. I can fit 4 comfortably or 5 if you want to get to know each other more intimately.
I'm in, shotgun front seat!
Brett here is the link- Wood Dust Australia | The Australian International Timber and Woodworking Festival
Correction: it's next year, not this year. Still something to look forward to.
It was started by NSW furniture maker Evan Dunstone who now makes the Lie Nielsen work benches for LN Australia. There isn't much info on the site yet, but from my email I got from him, Tom Lie Nielsen and other international woodworkers and tool makers will be there. I'll forward you the email.
Really looking forward to this one. Andy is right, these 'boutique' shows are increasing. Hopefully this one, along with Sturt etc can keep growing.
I mentioned it elsewhere but anyone going to this should be aware that Bulli Pass is closed until early November and anyone coming from the north will have to exit the freeway at Helensburgh and follow Lawrence Hargreave Drive down to Bulli from there. Anyone coming from the west across Appin Road has a choice, south into Wollongong and back to Bulli or North to the Helensburgh and exit onto Lawrence Hargreave Drive at Helensburgh. If I was to make a choice from Appin Road going north is way quicker but still a PIA no matter how you look at it. On the unlikely chance of Mt Ousley road being blocked by an accident they will open Bulli Pass as they have done on previous occasions. If coming across Picton Road through Wollongong will be the shortest way.
Has anyone else paid for a ticket, I got no response and wonder if others got a response.
Ordered Friday night
Received response on Sat morning 8 hrs later
would seem it's a manual process and no e ticket facility
Looks like a mini Maleny, same I can't make it
Ok, now I'm confused - I thought you said no eticks?
Sorry to confuse.
I paid and got a receipt with a message advising
"Thank you for your order at Illawarra festival of wood. We will be in contact shortly regarding the services you have ordered. Your order confirmation is below."
what im sayin is I got sent a receipt of order which is not a ticket so I've emailed and asked for clarification
