Spider on the bottom?
Australian folk law Rob , when we had out door "dunnies" ( toilets ) which we had when I was young, there was always a risk of the Redback spider ( related to your Black Widow) making its home under the seat and it was always wise to check before you settled down to the job in hand, more than a few people wished they had . They have even made a song about it.
For Rob Streeper...song lyrics.
Sheoak is quite appropriate, Red Back spiders (the ones that bite that is) are all female...
Mick.
I lived there for 4.5 years and twice... TWICE... I saw the largest snake I've ever seen outside a zoo (that's not an exaggeration. literally both were the largest at the time) in my own damn toilet.
I would've welcomed a Redback at that stage.
Oh, and the toilet seat is awesome. A true heirloom :)
Looks great mate . I take it the spider is inlaid in lieu of just painted?
Yes Luke, Brisbane certainly does have some lovely large snakes around our houses. The big ones are just carpet pythons though and won't hurt you if you don't hurt them. Finding one in the toilet though would certainly help most people speed up the process they went there for. My parents have green tree frogs living in their outdoor toilet - another very common inhabitant of outdoor toilets here in Queensland, and also possibly the reason the carpet snake was there - to hunt the frogs.
Dusteater - I would wince every time I went to the toilet - might lead to constipation!
However, the work looks great!
And not to mention our the female treats the male.
Very nice seat to.

scrub pythons are pretty popular in queensland too! Also massive.. quite often found banging around in peoples roofs as well as toilets
