I have used iron on edging on many jobs over the past 15 years and a good way to avoid contact glue adhering to your iron/sleeve/oven glove is to place a sheet of white photocopy paper between the iron & the laminate. I use a 200 gsm paper because I have a plentiful supply but standard 80 gsm bond paper will do. This also stops marks on your iron transferring to the laminate.
I also only set my iron to absolute minimum temp & no stream setting.
Iron set on 5 seems a little hot but minimum temp is my preference and has no difficulty melting the glue.
Cheers
