Locating pins on thicknesser cutterhead
Hi everyone, my circa 1994 Benchtop thicknesser has died this morning quite a horrible death I might add. Smoke, leaking some sort of fluid and sparks.
Well I like the aftermarket Italian blades that I purchase from my sharpening service. Thet are a straight blade with no locating holes in them.
I have noticed that a lot of the more recent mahines have some sort of locating pins on the cutterhead where the blades are aligned.
I don't want this as i set mine with a jig and the Italian blades would not be able to be used.
Are the locating pins/grub screws able to be removed or are they pressed in or manufactured with the pins in place?
For a reference I am looking at the Chinese MB 1931, in this case one manufactured for Tradetools.
