I was asked to cast a couple blanks with pictures in them.
I have never done any thing like this before and am kinda lost on how do you work out the size of a picture on a computer to fit a tube (Seirra) before you print it out? :?

I have a Microsoft program called Publisher in which I design my logos etc for printing. the size for a Serria is 5.7cm high and 3.4 or 3.5cm wide. the height allows for a small amount to trim at the top and bottom using a very sharp razor blade or craft knife. and the width allows for overlap. It is important to get the paper as square as possible when fixing to the tube. Publisher has a ruler so that you can get the dimensions exact as you need. Let me knpw if you need and mote info.
forgot to mention that it is a good idea to do a trial fit with a piece of paper cut to the size to make sure it is ok before glueing the real one onto the tube.
Thanks Daryl, found Publisher on my computer didnt know I had it.:?
Had a bit of a play, will give it a go and let you know how I went.:2tsup:

If you are going to have a go at labels then my advice is to spend the money on all the things you need to do the job because you will save money in the end.
In the past I have had a lot of problems with self adheasive vinyl paper lifting at the overlap when curing. Have tried plain paper and glue stick with some success. I have now found a self adheasive paper made by Avery Iike the labels but one A4 sheet. After printing just cut the image to the correct size, remove the backing paper and line up and roll onto the tube. It might pay to paint the tube white first to prevent the tube from showing through. The new brand of clear casting resin that Bunnings is now selling is good. The paper is available from Office Works.
Is this the one?
