Mk3/2000 compatible?
I have a mk 3 sawbench.
I came across a 2000 base today. It looks like it is a bit more compact than the mk3, the legs folding down/in. Storage space is an absolute premium in my shed.
It is pretty cheap but has no top. Would my mk3 top fit? I guess the mitre square and the blade guard won't fit.

It would fit, but with no way to lock the top in.

What Chrism said. the MkIII locks in with a couple of pins but the 2000 series uses sliding locking tabs; the stand doesn't have anywhere for the MkIII pins to go.
Without the top the stand is pretty useless; ok the RTA router table can fit in it too, but the dedicated router table stand is more compact and user friendly than the workcenter stand.
Pass it over would be my advice.

Hi Russ, where are you located?
I've got a spare top you can have, but I'm in regional Vic, near Ararat.

Hi peewee
Im in Ringwood.
If the base is still available I may take you up on your offer.
Probably a bit big to post, I'll investigate options....

Yep, still have it. It's just sitting in the corner of the shed not taking up any room, so no stress.
My clients office is in Bayswater, so there is a slim chance I might need to head down that way in the next month, but can't guarantee anything.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e0f8cb9f44.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...10ff4306d2.jpg

Russ,
as generous as that offer is, you will also need a fence, a protractor, and a sawguard/riving knife, which are different to the MK3 versions.

The base had the protractor and guard /riving knife.

The base I had my eye on has been sold, so I won't need the top after all. Thanks for the kind offer though.
