I have looked on line but can not find a place where I can buy Bunya Seed Pods for turning and slicing into disks.
Any pointing in the right direction would be appreciated.

You could get in touch with Ross Anells at the coororra institute.
They have a festival each year when the pods are ready to drop. Are you planning on vacuum stabilising them?
Not sure yet, Bevan
My wife asked if I am able to get some. She does bonsai and and bought a slice of one in Melbourne recently ...like a coaster so that she can put a companion plant to the main tree when exhibiting.
I think the Bunya coaster was $5 and spayed with resin or poly.
If I can source a few I might play around a bit with stabilising and maybe turning a few but Mel is looking for a few more plant "coasters"
Turns out she wants Banksia Pods.....I'll look around for those as well
Don't the Bunya pods just fall apart into the nuts??? That is there is no pod as such just a lot of nuts in the shape of a pod.....
Head to the west.. the big ones are in WA. The Big comparison, bunya nut Vs banksia, is staggeringly different. In terms of photography, same same but different. One is bigger, and maybe easier to get, in season.
cheers
Yep, that is the case. You would need to slice and either use straight way, or stabilise and use.
I did find some places in WA that can supply Banksia Pods
There were plenty of the WA Banksias for sale at Maleny, sorry I don't remember who though.
If you get desperate I have some of the larger WA ones, plus Swamp Banksia pods and Eastern Coastal Banksia pods, and a few other Banksia species pods. I can also cast and stabilise them if required.
