Hello out there.
Has anyone found a better/cheaper replacement filter cartridge (P1) for the half face powered respirator from Carbatec.
I think $21 plus postage is a bit steep.
Any help/direction appreciated.

Lyle.
Anyone still use these??
Anyone found any acceptable replacement cartridges. ???
I use the 3M masks worth the 2097 P100 pink filters https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0009XYN7O/
If you are working with organics such as isocyanate or aerosol particulate then use the 6001PB 3M cartridges https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B000A7PCS8 and/or these https://www.spraygunsdirect.co.uk/in...er-1-pair.html
The 6001 are used by professional car refinishers who use 2K isocyanate paints and clears.
Choose your mask wisely.... Half face or full face...
-- 3M Mold Remediation Respirator Kit 68097, Respiratory Protection, Medium (1 Kit) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B009KUL..._VLEdDbPB7YPZX
-- 3M 7500 7502 Series Professional Half Facepiece Respirator (Medium) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B004HXB..._TMEdDbCP1RTDS
If you run a clean compressed air setup, one can also buy one of these... They are absolutely excellent https://www.spraygunsdirect.co.uk/in...rfedmasks.html
Thanks for your reply. I have the mask, just need a cheaper/better P1 cartridge for it.
Only working with wood dust, sanding.
I'll have to find my nearest 3M/Blackwoods.
Lyle.
"It's only wood dust " is a bit concerning given that wood dust in one of ~200 chemicals and pollutants that appears on the National Institute of Health's list of things known to cause cancer.
Any P1 cartridge that fits the space and has the same size opening should be OK.
Some of the mask manufacturers use unusual size filters so you have to buy theirs.
Btw P1 is not that good a filter? It's more of a nuisance dust filter.
For wood dust I would be using at least a P2 filter.
The specs for the P type filters are as follows.
P1 – retain about 80% of particles smaller than 2 micrometers
P2 – retain about 94% of particles smaller than 0,5 micrometer
P3 – retain about 99,95% of particles smaller than 0,5 micrometer
On seeing this one might be tempted too go straight to a P3 filters but a major issue is often that that the fans in the powered respirator does not have enough grunt to draw air in though the finer filters especially as the block up.
Excellent info bobl.
I'll look around and see what I can find to use.
Thanks
Lyle
I'll look, but somebody else use it?
Looks like it is to be oem cartridges from carbatec. I cannot find alternatives. I'd like to get P2 cartridges to fit but no joy.
Their dimensions are 8cm x 2cm and held in place by a screwed on ring.
I've got some coming from carbatec. But still would like P2 alternatives.
