Old crude made table saw
bought something along these lines many years ago at auction -had a new 10" blade cost$2 Had 3 phase moter - scrapped. Table and most of frame -clearly was made from something else - Is it worth putting in a chipper moter 2HP allegedly & trying as at least a rough rip saw.Rise and fall still works well -NO provission for tilt. My other saws are ancient 2HP dewalt radial arm. and my dads also ancient 1 HP tiny table saw (can take 10" blade -but don't like it) also the table is so tiny it makes most things dangerous. The auction unit is not flat - could replace the table -but without major effort will not tilt. My dads old 1960s thing also has no tilt -can tilt the table -but that sucks -would rather do the radial arm despite Its vaugerys. One of the obvious answers is to start from scratch -and i do understand. Hovever I have what I have and also looking at dumping some machines - planer/thicknesser that only planes (shredded gears) 10" give me an offer. 12" dewalt radial arm. or me dads 1960s aussie combination unit. -blades up to 10"/ 6" planer + side shaft for?? and a table for that. Also thinking about dumping a dovetail machine -old school works off a template -the sort of you have seen since the 1950s -even dovetails -the customers however (ignorant as they are) love them.

Still keeping it on the backburner -Want to move -don't know what next place offers -space etc. But best wait and see - however tools need looking at and consolidating ie. old 10" planer thicknesser - gears shreaded on the thicknesser drive -so needs to be forced through - not easy - However since many have ONLY a tabletop thicknesser -this might be the planer part that they need - for streightening and such - as well as angle things -90% or not. All works well apart from the thicknesser drive. Cheap -otherwhise to me it is a 1 HP motor or possibly a 10" shaper of limited diameter detail. Could still be of use. Chair parts? Other things in question are 14" band saw- limited height of cut, As i also have a 20" bandsaw that can cut close to 12" Well one should go -methinks the bubber one. Other toys are Dedicated dovetail machine - cheap at auction -mostly because the plebs had no idea what it was - have used it 3 times since:C Still worth it -barely.
