This Bench has cost $3 so far
I am making a mobile Garden Workbench for SWMBO. I wanted to use existing timbers that I had in the shed to see how cheap I could do it.
All the frame was made from posts from one of our former pergolas and some free timber that was on offer nearby just last week.
The top was made from a length of 45mm thick laminated beam that a former client gave to me when he renovated a 1980s investment property. I ran the laminated beam through the thicknesser to take out some irregularities than biscuit joined 2 lengths in the clamps. Gave it a sand with the belt sander and it is now ready to add some wheels and some protective coating.
The steel grilled shelf is from sheets I already had at home.
Now the $3 cost SO FAR is that I had to buy some screws that I had run out of. I obviously have not included the time I took to make it, the cost of the machinery in the shed which no woodworker actually takes into account or the wheels and Poly but to get to this stage on $3 makes me quite happy.
