Best Sheds
Hi All,
Looking at getting a new garage and Best Sheds prices seem pretty unbeatable, but wondering if any of your guys have one or have dealt with them? I've read on their website that their colorbond steel is made and rolled in Australia, but then have read in a few sites that they are Chinese made steel.
Any info for and against much appreciated.
Cheers
Geoff

I have a 12 metre long one that I built about 4 years ago. No problems at all and the quality is no different to any of the others.
I can see no difference with their colorbond to any other brand on the market and wouldn’t even have known it was not one of the other brands
Would buy from them again without hesitation. Just a point to note, I bought the kit and erected myself so have no experience with them doing a supply and install job.

I've seen them recommended by several people on (I think) this and other forums. Word of mouth is good.
When I built my shed 20 years ago I was flat broke having bought the house a year earlier but I NEEDED more enclosed space. My house is 45 sqm..
Anyway I bought the lowest quoted shed. When the inspector came to sign it off he commented it was one of the better quality sheds he'd seem. It's survived fine for 20 years apart from the idiot who backed a truck into it one day and a couple of other misadventures, none of which were the shed's fault.
Point is price is no guarantee of quality and vice versa. Do bear in mind TV ads and junk mail are ultimately paid for by the customer.
No1 rule with sheds. Build the biggest one one you can afford or fit. NEVER kid yourself you won't regret going smaller. You will. You absolutely will. I couldn't go bigger but I wish I'd gone higher. No one EVER complains their shed is too big.

I bought a 7.2 x 6 from them and erected myself, excellent value and no problems. :2tsup:
The council just rubber stamped their engineering details and slab design

I used colorbond on my shed and it hasn't faded at all [ built before house] however I used colorbond on house roof and it has faded big time. The moral of the story is where you used to get 25 years guarantee you now get 12 years according to the head honcho in Sydney. I think this reflects you get quality some times and at other times you get crap.

I built about 4 years ago also. 12 x 7.5 x 3.6m. The sheets are printed Colorbond. It's a ripper and would buy again in a heartbeat, as previously mentioned. My neighbour had a look at mine and bought one, and then another to live in at his new place. Mine was pretty much half the price of the other brands.
Definitely be confident about buying one, and yes, no one has ever complained about their shed being too big.

On the subject of colorbond fading my original shed was built in 2005 and has faded a lot more than the lean to which I added in 2006. Both supplied by the same company, I've forgotten who, but not Best Sheds. Even the corrie roof sheets are a different hue.
Cheers,
Geoff.
