Stop a screwdriver from opening car door?
I noticed last week that someone had tried to open my Ute's driver door with a screwdriver through the key lock. It looks like they tried again last night because the lock damage is possibly worse, I think. The car is a 2006 BF Falcon Ute worth all of "multiple hundreds of $$$$" :D. It has central locking. I can't use the key to open the door anymore, and I don't recall ever actually using the key so that doesn't bother me. But I want to discourage the fools from further attempts, without electrifying the car overnight (I'd forget about it in the morning and zap myself instead ).
Can I do something as simple as drilling through the lock and then breaking the drill bit off without affecting any of the SMART lock blah blah stuff these things are equipped with? I figure that would stop there screwdrivers from getting in there, and also leave them nothing to grab on to.
I really don't know why they don't smash the breaker windows. That way they could steal all my stuff in the car such as my site tape measure and pickles from the Maccas cheeseburgers...
Cheers.
