Which oscillating spindle sander?
In thinking through the kit I've assembled for the workshop, it struck me the other day that the one tool I am missing is an oscillating spindle sander.
I'd noticed the Jet on special at Carbatec: Jet Benchtop Oscillating Spindle Sander | Carbatec and had earmarked to get one (most of my other kit is Jet, so it seemed a decent fit).
Then in browsing around tonight, I see this model from Timbecon: https://www.timbecon.com.au/oscillating-spindle-sander
It's $100 cheaper, yet according to the specs, 75W more powerful.
Am I missing something? It would seem a no-brainer to buy the Timbecon unit, but there's a nagging in the back of my head saying "You get what you pay for". I know the other Jet kit I have is rock solid - what I don't want to do is lash out for the Timbecon unit, and end up disappointed.
I also wonder about replacement sleeves - with a larger name brand such as Jet, isn't one more certain of being able to buy sleeves in the future, rather than a store brand that might disappear after some time?
Would love to hear opinions (and perhaps even an alternative model suggestion, if that's warranted) with many thanks for sharing your wisdom!
