Hi all, I have a Prowse Engineering band saw I would say from the 40's or 50's. It was made in Claremont West Oz and hasn't been used in anger in who knows how long.
So with the good ol Corona I finally have a bit of time to get around to doing a few jobs that have been ignored for years the saw being one.
Over the last few days I have stripped it down put it back together and found that everything is still true and she cuts and runs like a top.
My problem is the table tilt, the ripples (pic2&3) that would allow the bearing surface to bind up on tightening the clamp bolt (pic4) are worn away (see pic) I actually think the clamp bolt is a replacement / repair as I am thinking it would have been like a T bolt not with a plate that is radiused.
I have attached a couple of photo's and if anyone has some info on Prowse or advice to discuss re the table I am all ears.
Michael
