Hello from SE Melbourne
G'day guys,
My name is Bernard. I joined a few days ago and I have been reading all the info on this forum. There is so much and it will take many cups of tea to finish reading everything!
I'm from SE suburbs of Melbourne. I started doing a bit of wood work around 9 months ago.
I am part of the Berwick Wood Working club and have been using their machinery since i started, however, since COVID, I've switch to going all hand tools. The club had to close shop because 95% of members are at risk.
So basically since March, I've been dimensioning timber with handplanes. I primarily work with recycled timber. Mainly red/grey ironbark, spotty, blackbutt and bluegum (sometimes Jarrah). It has been very fun but very tiring sometimes. Those timbers are a little hard to work with.
Thank you for letting me join you guys and read up/participate in your discussions!
Cheers,
Bernard

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Bernard".
There are quite a stack members around Melbourne and cross Victoria plus the rest of the country.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.....
Cheers crowie
PS - Watch out for local Melbourne get togethers, great way to meet like minded forum members & network...
