Tired Box finish.

Hi All,
Some 17 years ago I made a small box from recycled jarrah flooring and finished it with Linseed oil, made a mess of that too as I left it too long before rubbing off the excess. It is now in need of a makeover, has been for a while, and I thought some coats of Danish oil would be the way to go. Any advice, instructions, please on how to go about it?
