Sparrow disc and drum sander and other Aussie machines auctioned in Sydney
Huge shed with a few generations of gear auctioned by Grays at Windsor recently.
There was traditional and modern Machinery, saws and cutters and mortise hollow chisels by the score. Similar number of handtools and old style laminating jigs etc.
I was very good and although had a bid on a few items didn’t buy any more projects.
The Sparrow was the old style disc with a perimeter steel band to keep the paper on.
There was a Goldie lathe a bit over 3 metres long. I really wanted this but didn’t need it and it would have taken a few months out of my life by the time it was in and hooked up to the lineshaft. It would have entailed moving and disposing of the RS which was a step too far.
The Ace jointer was 400mm wide and restorable but had at least one minor part missing.
The was a Polish Saw like a PK in a container needs a lot of tlc.
I will put up some photos but this may take time as my iPad now seems to only do one and then says no.
