Building a CNC circular Saw

I was sent this by a friend.

I like the outcome but not the tool itself, that thing looks nasty.

That is very clever!
A lot of thought has gone into that and his CNC set up looks really nice too.

Very cool, opens up so many possibilities

Sure does, but what, if anything, can it do that cannot be done with conventional router or end mill bits? And a lot safer too.
