This Seems Impossible
I thought my computer was dying but I had a look this arvo,
This Seems Impossible
The power plug on of the harddrives had fallen out.
But "My Computer' still showed 3 drives
I have 2 physical hard drives
1 is partitioned into primary partition c:
The remainder should be d:
and the other drive should be drive e:
but all 3 drives functioned from "My Computer" despite the power cable being disconnected.
so I disconnected the data cable.
"My Computer" still shows 3 drives and I can access each of them.
If I plug the data & power cable back into the 2nd physical drive I can acess e: drive, but I can't access drive d:, I get the message d: is not formatted.
It seems e: has been mirrored into d: but it still shows as a separate drive in "my computer"
any explanations what's happening
and how do I save data?

Not all of what you're saying makes sense, so let's go back a step. From the the Disk Management MMC snap-in (right-click My Computer -> Manage, select Disk Management) what Physical and logical drives do you see? Perhaps post a screen shot.

Here is a screen shot.
Only 1 physical partitioned drive is connected
and the only physical drive is formatted fat32
