My recycled table
Hi I have just finished my new table. I copied the design from Australian Wood Reveiw issue 61 and altered the design to suit me and SWMBO. It has 16 Mortice and tenon joints, which was quite a feat for me as I havent used them before. It was constructed out of Jarrah and Blackbutt (I think). All the wood was taken from rubbish throw out bin of a timber recycler, it was mainly t & g flooring. I had to inlay the top because after I joined the top I was left with really bad glue lines showing, so I routered a grove and cut some blackbutt to fit. I really like the look of the top now. Finished with satin poly and rubbed it back with 0000 steel wool and Ubeat Trad wax. Rubbing back with 0000 steel wool was a tip from another forum member and I like the result. I was pleased with the project but lots of room for improvement.

I love it. Well done. Amazing what you can get out of wood someone is throwing away.

very neat!
it's always a little more rewarding, when you have done a really nice job with timber that was being ditched.

Slim, light and elegant, what SWMBO could ask for anything more. Great job and I love the effect of the top in the two colours.:2tsup:

An excellent piece of work. The accidental inlay has added a nice contrast to the depth of colour in the Jarrah.:2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:
