Would the treating process kill the natural smell...
Would the treating process kill the natural smell of the cut timber. Whenever I planed over a knot or a sappy bit there was a strong menthol type scent.

Thanks mate. It's from the roof supports I'm underground mining, been down a shaft for the last 30 years. I spoke to a guy recently who said they use red oak now, but I'm not certain this is oak.
