How would you describe the comparison between the older induction motors belt driven table saws compared to a modern brushless direct drive (considering all other things equal)?

Will wood glue (gorilla brand) work ok on two varnished surfaces if they are roughed up with a sander? Stripping the surfaces right back probably isn't worth the effort. But I'm curious if wood glue...
