This species has a number of attributes
Firstly it seasons fast and has very little radial/tangential degrade.
It is also lightweight and extremely stable
And to top it off has very nice grain and...

I secure them with wire if they are large
Smaller ones stockings or twine(sometimes galvanised nails if for example they are secured to a horizontal branch)
This Cassia tree has 6 so far...

Clearing the 'Big Scrub' is what devastated the environment.
At least the Camphor Laurel has in some instances stabilised the creek/river banks from erosion as well as offering much needed...

Well for starters it is not a lousy wood.
Nor is the tree an ugly weed.

I've milled Camphor in the past and can report the timber is exceptionally figured and displays a wonderful range of...

Maybe it would have been prudent of you to offer to purchase new blades for the thicknesser that you used.
They are not overly expensive
