I use a Lucas as i mill trees that are up to 1800 wide so if you guys made a bandsaw mill that could handle australian hardwoods & maybe have tungsten teeth on the blade id be interested.

Weisy i have a Lucas 8/25 & its simple to use & the guys at lucas are good to deal with as well.

Save your cash & just buy the hardwood first up......... or if there is any freight mobs about you might be able to pick up some old bearers they use to put loads on when on the back of the truck . ...

Here is a lowline i have just finished & swapped for a new stihl 390 farm boss...the unit is made out of recycled spotted gum although i had to use blackwood vaneer for the floor & shelves.

Well Wongo this is how i do it ....1 flatten the face on jointer ....2 flatten a edge that is square to that face.....3 put through thicknesser until both sides are the required thickness ......???? ...

Cheers Wongo !! i do have a jointer & a thicknesser but when gluing up a 1600 wide top made up of 12 x boards its a nightmare even when i made the top in 3 x sections !! the top came out pretty flat...

Sorry Cliff no picks of the joints'' but i used domino's 4 x 10 x 50's for each joint & the aprons are 70mm wide so with corner brackets & tite bond 3 i am hoping it should be strong enough

Just finished another dining table made out of redgum (top) ash ( aprons ) spotted gum (legs).
1600 x 1600 square finished with wipe on poly then a coat of wax .
just wish i had a wide belt...

DJ the soil is black as in river country & not many rocks at all but the red gum is still as hard as nails ...will be out again this weekend so more pic's coming

the chemical they use in the shipping containers is Methel Bromide & can penetrate a foot of wood & will nock dead just about anything.
