Thanks for reply but that is not same as it bolts to bench and the one Im after actually has a sleeve insert to go in the bench and hold fast slides in insert. Which allows quick set up when needed...

trial error
I have made similar whistlers with year 8s at school and theeir seemed to be a bit trial error to get best result. Eg varying length and angle of dowel. Dont have picture handy:(

Trees gone
Yes Wiz I realise a close up would be more beneficial, however this is the best I can do. If somone knows the tree well and good otherwise doesn't matter. The tree is not there anymore.

Not peperina as there are some on same farm, I ahve not seen similar tree about here. it was near site of old house so may have been planted. There is some nice figure through the timber but not much...
