If you dry them throughly with a paint stripping gun ( like a large hair dryer) before you use them they will work fine.

With timber usually the more dense it is the heavier it is, I do not know of any exceptions to this rule. English elm is a light white coloured wood that is nice for guitar bodies.

It is a little difficult to avoid chinese power tools when quite a lot of brand name items are made there also, some almost as bad as described above.
