Hi your photo looks like the splits are straight along the joints, I would be inclined to take the top off and re-plane the joints and then glue it up, this would help you to get the best finish and...

Thanks for your help, I am taking them to show an old metal working friend and see if he can either repair or make new ones.

Stripped threads. Nothings broken just the internal threads on the nut part is completely worn out.

Does anyone know of anyone in Perth who can repair the brass (nut) threads on table worms and also on revolving stools. Would rather have the originals fixed than buy new ones.

I used some in England to restore an Arbutus box. Its a nice timber to work with similar to working with laburnum. If you ever want to get rid of it I would be more than happy to help you out.

B&R Fittings on Jersey St in Jolimont sell it.

You could use Kauri pine to do any repairs as its very easy to match to Rimu. You could get some from a salvage yard or you could buy some new Kauri thats coming in from Asia.
