Have the same saw with 8in CMT blades have no problems with the brake or start up. Can only get 17.95mm on arbour (ABEEE)and still get a full nut,been meaning to look into a longer arbour...

I use two bushes with my blade,the first one sits inside the inner flange and the blade sits on the other. Used to have a lot of trouble keeping everything together while I tightened the arbour nut.

Gifkin jig won't do blind dovetails but it works well and is easy to set up and use.
