Just about every scrollsaw forum has talked about the "hold down" foot, and just about everybody agrees it's best to take it off.
Unless you're using reverse tooth blades, all the "drag" is...

The puzzle is getting the box open....
Something really simple?
Try The Flatpack, or the Wierd Puzzle.
They're just flat pieces of wood. There's not even any glue involved....

Straight cuts?
Easy (If they're outside cuts).
A mitre saw.
A good old fashioned hand-powered tenon saw.
Inside cuts?
A scrollsaw and finish off with a file.
Hammer and chisel.
So what are...

Another puzzle box...Cubey 4.
If you're very, very lucky, you could open this in just 6 moves...
..but it's more likey to take you up to 252 moves to open......

It took about two days, from idea to completed box.
Now that the plans are done, it should only take one day to make.
Give it a go-it's one of the easier boxes....

This is my latest Cubey puzzle box, a little more complicated to open than the previous Cubey puzzles.
Also a little more complicated to actually make......

This one has been made quite awhile, but took ages to get the plans into a readable form...
Very hard to open!
Even if you know how, it takes 44 moves to open.......

The Jail Cell is made from 1/8" plywood, and 1/8" dowel rods. It was all cut on a scrollsaw (hence, it's in the scrolling forum...).
How does it work?
