ians right you wont get those sizes from a sheet
years ago they use to be 2440 x 1220 so you could get said sizes

its Radiata pine and the colour stain used would have been baltic pine,

i agree with WW and Corbs

all the cane seats i have fixed up have been around a 5mm bead with a 5mm groove (height and width)

once the weave has been soaked in water its quite supple and the the bead should wedge in to...

I'd expect to pay around $80-$100 a sqm its a round the same for jarrah,sassafras and other pricier timbers

looks like a peice of mahogany to me?? is it dense? if so probably a h/wood eucalypt of some kind?? maybe brushbox?

522, 524 are the same -Vic ash or tas oak
511, 512 are the same -New giunea rosewood
514, 515 are the same -silky oak
516, 517 are the same -Camphor laural ...

could be Carbeen or morton bay ash? Red Ash also a possibility

is it any thing like crows ash??

Evening Lad/s, just a quick note scored some 15ft 8x1,3/4silky oak today around 1.3cm3 aswell as .75cm3 of burdekin plum and around .5cm3 Huon pine and king billy any one knows what this stuff is...

Could be tas blackwood or qld maple?

u could use red tounge ply? i priced a bamboo 1200x2400x40 sheet and it was around $400 for a sheet excluding gst and freight

Thats fair enough Daniel, but on a 150x35 frame the splines and inlay serve to enhance the joint stength by increasing the glue surface area and control timber movement over time.
