sounds resonable,but still doesn't explain why it didn't turn brown when first turned and sanded....as you no that process is a lot more sanding and heating,but still retained purple colour.why...

I am thinking of starting to go to markets, etc.I have sold some clocks and bowls privately,and the odd one in a shop in sth windsor.my question is how do you price the finished piece so it is not...

can anyone help with types of polishes to finish turned items.Method used,drying time in between coats,amont of coats,etc? ...

i turned a piece of purple heart yesterday into a bowl.turned out perfectly. The problem i have is that i went down to polish it the next day,and i suspect like most turners(me anyway) i didn't like...

i have a supernova 4jaw chuck wich i use to turn bowls with(abviously). does anybody know how to get the grip marks out of the bottom of bowl.the bowls look good but when you turn them over and see...

well got webcam to take pic of sign i made on silky veneer 25cm by 15cm. made 5 today:D had printer stop once,it allready printed sign just got stuck coming out(blew on it and it came out?) mabye...

:) didn't seem to bother printer one bit! besides what's more important WOOD or COMPUTERS:D

sorry bob. when i heard of putting veneer threw a printer i thought it was bit of a joke(no offence graham) but iwas quiet suprised to find that it worked first time (record for me:) ). i...

works without a problem bloody top idea. i have a cannon S200SP all i did was tape up the ends so they didnt split and just put it threw.....it couldn't have come out any clearer.......... ...

it did a little,but no were near the aroma of other camphors i had. plus this was my first blackwood so i didn't no what it smelt like...

great idea guy's...... hope noone minds if i try my hand at it??? to irresistable to pass this oppitunaty up. back soon:)
